006 || BLAC BLOCS – NVDA

A young suburban couple dutifully enslaved to debt. The assembly line worker punished by others’ lust for cheap commodities. An exploration of the inherent and displaced violence of our domestic lives.

Shot almost entirely on an old Canon 350d DSLR, the music video is a stop-motion animation that took over a year to complete and was comprised from some 10,100 images.

Inspired by a protest banner that read “Cut down the last tree to print more money!” At the height of the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) a Prime Minister takes drastic action to stimulate the economy, but are the repercussions worth it?

Made for the annual Revel-8 Super 8mm competition held during Perth’s Revelation Film Festival. Films are shot on a single Super8 film cartridge with in camera editing. Film is processed by the festival and filmmakers only see their film for the first time on the night of the screening.

Surreal-esque attack on modern living and generation debt.

A consumer wakes from a 10 year coma to a nightmare landscape of hyper-capital domination and an outrageous accumulated debt. Assisted by a vampiric Accountant our hero consumer must settle his debts before the blood thirsty debt collectors settle their debts with him.
